Caring for Children Level 1
This qualification has been designed to help learners gain the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to care for their own children or children in a voluntary capacity, such as babysitting. The learner will be able to develop their own skills at the same time.
Learners will learn how to respect and value children as individuals, how to tell stories, plan musical and creative experiences and keep children safe.
You will cover the following units in class:
-Communication skills with children
-Planning for physical and emotional care needs of children
-Keeping children safe
-Valuing children as individuals
-Physical activities for children
-Creative activities for young children
What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?When you have successfully completed this course there are numerous opportunities for further study, including progression to higher levels of certification, such as the level 2 in Children and Young People's Workforce. The course can also lead to employment opportunities such as childminding, crèche assistance.
What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?No formal qualifications are required, although you will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary ability, enthusiasm and commitment to successfully complete the course.
